Residential Packing & Crating

Peasley Moving & Storage offers our customers a wide variety of packing and crating services to best meet their needs. These services range from packing all household goods (a “full pack”) to packing only select belongings of a delicate, sentimental, or highly valuable nature (“fragiles only pack”).  A major cause of moving-related stress is whether your possessions will arrive at their final destination intact and without damage. Utilizing Peasley Moving’s professional packing services will ensure that your belongings are properly handled and packed for transporting, greatly reducing your concerns about this aspect of the moving process.

Full Pack

When Peasley Moving performs a full pack, we take responsibility for ensuring that all your belongings are properly prepared for a safe move. Our trained professional packers use the highest quality packing materials and supplies available, ensuring that your belongings are well protected and the packing process is as efficient as possible. We wrap dishes and glassware in clean newsprint and then they are densely packed into special double-walled dishpack containers. The key to avoiding damage is packing densely so that the movement of packed items in the box is prevented.

Specialized attention is given to large mirrors and hanging artwork.  Such items are properly wrapped in paper pads and carefully placed in specialized mirror packs which are adjustable to accommodate a wide range of dimensions while providing multiple layers of protection. Peasley Moving employs a wide range of carton types and sizes to best accommodate your belongings.  These range from large cartons for bulky light-weight items such as pillows and bedding to small cartons for heavier items such as books. We also provide wardrobe cartons with bars for hanging clothing directly from your closets. Using cartons of the proper size and structure ensures that your items are properly protected for transit and serve to inform the moving crew of the contents for proper handling and loading.

Fragiles Only or Partial Pack

There are circumstances in which a customer may elect to have Peasley Moving perform a partial pack instead of a full pack.  For example, as the cost of a move is based on time and materials, some customers choose to save money by packing some or all of their belongings themselves. In such cases, Peasley Moving can provide professional packing of those items that are either fragile, difficult to pack, or will require more time than the customer has available. When it comes to packing fragile items such as glassware, fine china, lamps and mirrors, we have the proper materials, methods, and experience to set your mind at ease.

Crating

Whether you are making a local move, interstate move, or international move, our goal is to take the necessary steps to ensure the safe transportation of your highly valuable artwork, specialized furniture, and other oversized and valuable belongings. With this in mind, there are circumstances where the best means of protection is to pack such items in specially constructed crates or wood boxes. Several examples include; slate pool tables, marble or glass table tops, oversized or priceless artwork, fragile antiques, and chandeliers. Peasley Moving has the expertise to construct customized wooden crates and boxes to accommodate any item requiring this enhanced level of protection. Boxes & Packing Supplies for the Do-It-Yourselfer

Although one can certainly gather and use boxes and packing materials from recycling dumpsters, supermarkets, and liquor stores, this approach can be both time consuming and costly in the end.  Although it seems like a great way to save money on a move, these boxes and packing materials can present challenges if they turn out to be soiled, infested with insects, or structurally compromised.

• Dishpack (or China Barrel) – Heavy-duty carton used for dishes/china, crystal and glassware.
• Double-wall cartons – Extra protective cartons made especially for fine china, crystal, and other high-value, hard-to-replace items.
• 1.5 cu. ft. cartons – Small carton for heavy items such as books, files, and DVDs/video tapes.
• 3.0 cu. ft. cartons – Medium utility carton often used for pots and pans, toys, and appliances.
• 4.5 cu. ft. cartons – For bulky items, such as linens, towels or toys.
• 6.0 cu. ft. cartons – For large, bulky, or lightweight articles, such as pillows or large lampshades.
• Wardrobe cartons – A “portable closet” that keeps clothes or draperies hanging on a built-in bar.
• Mirror cartons – Several sizes of telescoping cartons for framed pictures, mirrors or glass.
• Mattress cartons – Available in queen/king, double, single (twin) and crib sizes. A separate carton is necessary for box springs.
• Stretchwrap – A special plastic covering that adheres to furniture and protects it from snags, tears, and dirt.
